The UK is back. With the 2-year Graduate Route visa reinstated and 1-year master’s programs that save you a full year compared to the US or Canada, the UK is once again one of the smartest study-abroad choices for Indian students.
We have placed more students in the UK than any other country. Here is everything you need to know.
Why the UK stands out
- 1-year master’s programs — complete your postgraduate degree in 12 months. That is a full year of tuition and living costs saved compared to a 2-year program in the US or Canada.
- Graduate Route visa — 2 years of unrestricted post-study work after graduation. No job offer needed to stay.
- Russell Group prestige — 24 research-intensive universities that are globally recognized by every employer. A degree from a Russell Group university carries weight everywhere.
- No language barrier — unlike Germany or France, everything is in English from day one.
- Easy European travel — London is 2 hours from Paris, Amsterdam, and Brussels by train.
Russell Group universities we work with
Our strongest partnerships and placement track record:
- University of Oxford — world’s #1. Extremely selective but we have placed students here.
- University of Cambridge — unmatched for sciences, engineering, and humanities.
- Imperial College London — the UK’s MIT. Strongest for STEM and business.
- University College London (UCL) — London’s largest university, excellent across all disciplines.
- London School of Economics (LSE) — the world’s top social sciences university.
- University of Edinburgh — Scotland’s finest. Strong in AI, data science, and medicine.
- University of Manchester — excellent for engineering, business, and computer science.
- University of Warwick — top-tier business school (WBS) and economics department.
- King’s College London — strong in law, medicine, and humanities.

How much does it cost?
| Expense | Annual estimate (GBP) |
|---|---|
| Tuition (master’s) | £15,000 – £35,000 |
| Tuition (undergraduate) | £12,000 – £28,000 |
| Living expenses (outside London) | £12,000 – £14,000 |
| Living expenses (London) | £15,000 – £18,000 |
| NHS health surcharge (IHS) | £776/year |
| Visa application fee | £490 |
Total budget for a 1-year master’s: roughly £30,000 – £55,000 (INR 32-58 lakhs) depending on university and city.
Remember: this is for just one year. A 2-year program in Canada or the US would cost significantly more in total.
The Student Route visa (formerly Tier 4)
The UK student visa process is straightforward if your documentation is in order:
- CAS letter — your university issues a Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies
- Financial proof — show you can cover tuition + 9 months of living costs (£1,334/month outside London, £1,023/month in London since January 2025 update)
- English language proof — IELTS, TOEFL, or PTE score
- Tuberculosis test — required for Indian applicants
- IHS payment — NHS health surcharge paid upfront
- Biometrics — submitted at the VFS centre in Hyderabad
Processing time: typically 3-4 weeks from the VFS appointment.
We handle the entire visa application end to end. Our approval rate for UK student visas is above 98%.
The Graduate Route: your 2-year runway
After completing your degree, you can switch to the Graduate Route visa without needing a job offer:
- 2 years for bachelor’s and master’s graduates
- 3 years for PhD graduates
- No salary threshold — you can work in any job at any level
- No sponsorship needed — it is an unsponsored visa
- Counts toward the 5-year settlement (ILR) pathway
This is the UK’s biggest advantage over many other countries. You get 2 years to find your footing, build experience, and decide whether to stay long-term.

Why students from Hyderabad choose us for the UK
The UK is our strongest destination. Our founder has first-hand experience with the UK education system, and our team includes counselors who studied and worked in the UK themselves.
What this means for you:
- We know the admissions committees. We have placed students at every Russell Group university and understand what each one looks for.
- Our SOP process is rigorous. Six revisions minimum. We do not send generic statements.
- We coach for UK-style interviews. Oxford, Cambridge, and Imperial all interview — we run mock sessions tailored to each university’s format.
- Post-arrival support in the UK. Airport pickup, bank account setup, SIM card, and an alumni WhatsApp group in your city.
Common questions
Can I work while studying? Yes. Student Route visa holders can work up to 20 hours per week during term time and full-time during holidays.
Is the UK more expensive than Canada? On a per-year basis, yes. But a 1-year UK master’s often costs less in total than a 2-year Canadian master’s when you add up both years of tuition and living.
Can I bring my family? Dependants can join you if you are on a postgraduate program of 9+ months at a university that is allowed to sponsor dependants. Rules tightened in 2024 — check current eligibility.
What IELTS score do I need? Most Russell Group universities require 6.5 overall with no band below 6.0. Some programs (law, medicine, humanities) require 7.0+.
Is the Graduate Route visa guaranteed? Yes, if you complete your degree at a qualifying institution. It is not discretionary — you apply, you get it.
